Events - Event View

This shoot is open to all commonly used center fire hunting rifles. Single shot, auto, bolt, lever and pump action. No AR type rifles. Event is open to all members and their guests- participants must be 15 yoa or older. $5.00 entry fee for the Club, payable at the Shoot.
Course of fire - 5 timed shots on a deer target with the bullseye in the double lung area from the standing position at 50 yards. Just like when you are in the Northern New England woods and that 12-point buck magically appears and you have seconds to aim and fire. You will be in the standing position with the rifle in the low ready position, when the timer sounds you will have 5 seconds to get on target and fire one shot into the target. No support allowed except for use of a sling. This will be repeated until all 5 shots are fired. Targets will then be scored: Hits in the Bullseye count as 20 points. Hits in the heart count as 15 points. Hits in the lungs outside the bullseye count as 10 points. Hits in the Liver count as 5 points. Hits in the gut deducts 10 points from your score. Hits outside the organs is a miss. Go over the time limit, it is a 10-point penalty. Max. possible score is 100. Two classes- open sights & optics (scopes & red dots). Mandatory safety briefing before the Shoot. So come on down, get ready for hunting season and earn bragging rights for being the Top Shot. Prizes will be awarded to the top shooters in each class- optics (red dots/ scopes) and open sights. The Rifle Side of the ODR will be closed while this shoot is being conducted.
