This Shoot is open to all female members, their female family members and friends, male member’s female family and female friends, shooters must be at least 18 yoa. You do not need a Firearms License to compete. Competitors must be pre-registered for the event via the Club’s Event Registration section on the Club’s Website. A $5.00 entry fee is due on the day of the shoot, exact change is appreciated.
A safety briefing will take place prior to the competitors firing, all competitors must attend the safety briefing. Competitors will fire 10 rounds with a .22 handgun and 10 rounds with a .22 rifle- the combined score of both targets will determine the overall score, competitors will put their names on their pistol and rifle targets before firing. Shooters may use their own or a borrowed open sight .22 pistols at 21 feet and their own or a borrowed open sight .22 riles at 25 yards. Pistols with red dot or optics will shoot at targets at 50 feet and rifles with red dots or optics will shoot at 50 yards. No rests are allowed in shooting pistols or rifles, rifle shooters may use their elbows on the shooting bench for support. In case of a tie, the competitors will fire another 20 round combined score of pistols and rifles until there is one 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winner. 5-6 competitors will fire pistols at the same time that the other 5-6 competitors fire rifles and the targets will be collected for scoring and new signed targets will be set up and the competitors will switch from rifles to pistols and pistols to rifles. Targets will be collected for scoring and the scores from both targets will be added for the total score while the next group of competitors shoot their 20 rounds.
A list of all competitors will be set up and their scores recorded by the judges next to their names. Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be issued as well as prizes.
There will be Range Safety Officers/Coaches to maintain safety and assist competitors with the handling of guns. All guns shall be brought to the range and the shooting positions in a case and if left on the shooting bench for another shooter- the guns will be unloaded, actions will be open and a safety flag inserted into the chamber. All guns will be checked by a Range Safety Officer to make sure they are unloaded and cased before taking them off of the shooting benches. All competitors shall wear eye and ear protection.
If any competitor lacks a pistol and/or a rifle- they will be provided with one as well as the ammunition if needed. Competitors are encouraged to provide their own firearms, ammunition as well as their own ear and eye protection but the ODR will provide ear and eye protection to those that lack them. Spectators are encouraged to wear ear protection and must provide their own.
Registration starts at 10AM- there will be refreshments. Shooters may have their own shooting coaches to assist them as well as family and friend to cheer them on- this is a fun event for bragging rights. Any questions should be directed to Ron Witten at rwwitten1@msn.com
